Review highlights
Based on 235 reviewsTanuki, located on Taras Shevchenko Street in Tashkent, consistently receives praise for its high-quality Japanese cuisine, particularly its sushi and rolls, which are regarded as delicious and well-prepared. The restaurant’s trendy, cozy atmosphere, enhanced by lively music and stylish decor, appeals to a diverse clientele, including families who appreciate the dedicated play area for children. Diners also value the presence of a separate vegetarian menu and the staff's ability to communicate in English. However, a common feedback pattern highlights slower-than-expected service, with guests often needing to actively seek out waitstaff, resulting in longer waiting times for orders and payment. Despite this, the professionalism and friendliness of the young staff contribute positively to the overall dining experience. Wine and alcohol offerings are available, though some customers note that prices can be on the higher side. Overall, Tanuki is recognized as a welcoming, quality-focused restaurant with minor service speed concerns.
Delicious rolls, reasonable prices, but the service is a bit slow. It seems that there are a lot of waiters, but for some reason you always have to look for them, call them and then wait to pay
A nice restaurant with good atmosphere which will make your day better. A food is high qualified. Professional cooks make your food in 20 minutes max, I highly recommend this place to be visited by you!
Smack right at the entrance of the Tashkent City Mall, sits Tanuki. Here they serve their version of Japanese cuisine and try their best to replicate it. The staff are young, quick and friendly. Catchy music liven up the already funky decor. It’s cozy, smart and a little plush. Trendy is a word they are aiming for. Alcohol is available with wine prices a little on the high side of the scale. Server John took care of our table and he’s very courteous. Our meal arrived in a heartbeat. Beef Ramen and a huge mix set called… Arigato! Why not? The Beef in the ramen was tasty but the broth could be jazzed up further. Some additional garnish would really add to the flavour. As for the huge mix set platter,it was tasty enough. Wasabi was genuine. Gari ginger was tasty. And the assorted pieces acceptable. If you’re looking forward to something other than Uzbek cuisine…. Try this! There are two locations in Tashkent
Great sushi at a good price. Chill atmosphere. English spoken and staff all brilliant. Has a separate vegetarian menu.
There are many sushi restaurants in Tashkent. This one has a lot of tables and you can see the cooking nearby. Kids can play at the play space while waiting the food. It takes long to serve after your order, 20-30 mins. We enjoyed sushi and miso soup.
We came for and unexpected dinner, but I had 4beers already and was full. So, I just ordered a beer for me. My wife got a salad soup and juice. The total we paid was 20USD. The Tanuki beer they have was good, but you better ask for another one. My wife enjoyed all her stuff as she is regular visitor here. They have nice clean toilets, but with strange project. They have 1 long basin for male and female and only one tap, so you have to wait while someone finishes washing and then start yourself….
It's a great place to come with your family. Food is delicious and service is great!
One of the best Asian kitchen in Tashkent is Tanuki
